An interesting Easter egg on Age of Resistance?

I’ve recently been rewatching Episode 7, “Time to Make… My Move” of The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance and came across this while watching the show.

Some might call this a video issue and others would call this an Easter egg. I’m classifying it as a one of a frame kind Easter egg.

White rectangle on the bottom of the frame for one frame.

In this shot from the show, roughly at around 21 minutes and 13 seconds you actually see a white rectangle on the bottom of the shot for one frame. It is a blink and you will miss it kind of moment. The white rectangle seems to be a pixellation error that may have occurred either on the video file on the shot or on the video file of the final master output deliverable.

The issue has been reported to Netflix their support page and I hope to receive an update about it.

Is it likely that Netflix would actually go back and fix this one shot on a cancelled TV show? Probably not. Though that have fixed some shots in the past. For example in Episode 10 when originally released you could see Kevin Clash puppeteering Gruenak and the shot was updated for him to be removed.

This shot was in the original release of the show that showed puppeteer Kevin Clash in the shot. It was subsequently fixed soon after.

At least it’s not as bad as the video issues that I have with The Dark Crystal in 4K that I would hope they can fix it should it get the re-release treatment in 2022.
